In 2026 we’re changing our contest guidelines. In the past the winners would receive a cash award as well as a publication offer. This year we will be offering cash award to ALL those that are offered publication as a result of the open reading period. The cash award comes from a pool of funds the press accumulates from the previous year as well as submission fees. We do the best we can to support our artists through financial contributions and this is one important change to do just that. Our operation model is based on sustainability not profitability.

This year we’re starting with a base award of $50 to be split evenly amongst those offered publication. The final cash award will be based on the amount of submission fees received and announced at the end of the open reading period.

We are especially interested in publishing surreal, absurd, Dada, abstract, asemic poetry/ visual poetry/ micro fictions/ hybrid writing/ photography/ art. We are also really excited to read your CNF, essays on craft and process, philosophy and criticism of capitalism and empire.

Reading period is open from January 1, 2026 thru March.

Our 2025 Contest is CLOSED. If you entered the 2025 contest, expect to have a decision by June.

! We believe that money shouldn’t be a barrier to art, creating it, or interacting with it. If you have a financial hardship and are not able to cover the cost of the contest, please reach out we would love to help.

Chapbooks

Submission Guidelines

Please send us your manuscript between 16-30 pages in length. This does not include title and credits pages. Please note that we likely will not include a table of contents, but if you’d like to include one that won’t count against your page count.

For works of fiction, please note that we are interested in chapbook collections of micro fiction; each piece should be about 500 words in length.

The contest fee is $5.00. All money raised goes to fund the prize money, webhosting costs and creation of our projects.

Our chapbooks are A5 size pages, please format your file accordingly. If there are special size considerations, please let us know, we are open to working with different size chapbooks.

Simultaneous submissions are fine, it’s your work, please let us know if it is accepted elsewhere.

Our preferred font is Palatino Linotype. We recommend formatting your manuscript with this font and corresponding page size to make sure that it will not affect line breaks etc. However, if this is not available to you or you prefer the font selected (visual, experimental pieces etc.) We will work with you on that.

Those offered publication with Stone Corpse will receive a contract that includes a limited print run of 30 copies and 10 author copies. 40% royalties or the option to take the limited run copies for personal use.

Please include a brief cover letter, nothing formal, just say hello. You can also include a brief bio if you wish at this time, but it’s not necessary.

Please include a brief cover letter and, if you wish, a brief bio, neither are necessary at this time.

Our micro-chapbooks are A6 size pages, please format your file accordingly. If there are special size considerations, please let us know, we are open to working with different size books.
